Like a building, a band needs a strong foundation with which to build on. This musical foundation can typically be heard in the interplay between the drum and bass parts within a song. This session will give participants the opportunity to explore how the drummer and bassist can work together to create a solid foundation. By adapting and approximating a few basic drum rhythms, expanding our knowledge of bass techniques, and improving our ability to comfortably move around the neck of the bass guitar, nearly any song is within our, or our students’ grasp. Through continuous hands-on participation and through the use of several popular songs, we will discover how to create this strong foundation as well as become more confident drummers and bassists.
