Introducing the Ukulele into your Modern Band and/or General Music classes will add yet another layer of fun, point of entry for learning musical skills, and tool which your students can use to communicate and become part of the music making community in your classroom.  This workshop will demonstrate how to design and prepare units of study, set up the logistics and expectations in your room, create visual tools for learning (manipulatives), create assessments, and of course, get your students music making with ukuleles in a jiffy!  By the end, session participants will have a solid understanding on how to start a ukulele program that fits their students need, including video footage of elementary and secondary school students at work with ukuleles, sample units, and lesson plans.  All skill levels welcome!
