This workshop will demonstrate how to use Modern Band methods in the elementary to middle school general music classroom, blending both modern and traditional music, from pop songs to folk songs. The goal is for teachers to be able to integrate Modern Band materials and methods (music, instruments, etc.) into a general music curriculum, while still adhering to state and national standards. Using traditional general music instruments, modern band instruments, manipulatives and more, teachers can rock out in their general music classroom.

David Hendricks is a music teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School in Tampa. He has taught in Hillsborough County for over 20 years.
