Jump on the Drums! Beginning Drum Kit Made Easy FILLING

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

Do you ever find the thought of teaching drums to beginners daunting? Do your students struggle to coordinate their hands, feet, and brain, while keeping track of right, left, and tempo? This workshop provides ways to quickly teach the backbeat, make drumming accessible to all learners, and incorporate other music standards and activities in the fun of drumming. Come and learn the “Pink Stick/Blue Stick” method of color coding the backbeat while reinforcing the task-orally, aurally, and kinesthetically. Learn ways to break up the backbeat while reinforcing musical concepts like note names. Take a shot at creating drum fills and internalizing the rhythm of the backbeat. No drum kit? No problem—we have adaptations for those situations, too! While this workshop is geared toward beginners, any teacher can use these concepts with students who are beginning or struggling to Jump on the Drums!
